Assigning subadministrator rights to specific users, who obtain subadministrator rights for a specific Group of users in Connect. Next, option to set permissions for these subadministrators as is possible for todays Limited Administrators. Regarding present day subadministrator role: Administrators - Limited: This is a global role with global permissions for the entire Connect installation and not limited/constrained to a specific group of users.
Reason:
NRENs typically deploy Connect across several institutions/universities. Our users are typically assigned to a group representing each institution, and we would like to assign local administrator rights to a person, or a number of individuals, from that group: the rights/permissions being restricted to a specific group. We believe this feature also apply to major organizations, where subadministrator rights could be assigned to specific departments.
