Enabling notifications in SonarQube for specific projects allows you to stay updated on important changes and issues. Follow these steps to set up notifications for yourself as a user:

  1. Log in to SonarQube: Open your web browser and navigate to your SonarQube instance. Log in with your credentials.

  2. Access Your Profile: Click on your avatar or username at the top right corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select "My Account."

  3. Navigate to Notifications: In the "My Account" section, find and click on the "Notifications" tab.

  4. Set Up Overall Notifications:

    • At the top of the Notifications page, you’ll see options for general notifications. There you will find following options:
      • Background tasks in failure on my administered projects
      • Changes in issues/hotspots assigned to me
      • Quality gate changes on all available projects 
      • My New Issues
    • Select the checkboxes for the types of overall notifications you want to receive.
  5. Set Up Project-Specific Notifications:

    • Scroll down to the "Projects" section within the Notifications tab.
    • You'll see a list of all the projects you have access to ( you can also add them manually).
    • For each project you want to receive notifications about, click the checkbox next to the type of notifications you wish to receive. Typical notification types include:
      • Background tasks in failure
      • Changes in issues/hotspots assigned to me
      • Quality gate changes
      • Issues resolved as false positive or won't fix
      • New issues
      • My new issues
    • Select the checkboxes for the types of overall notifications you want to receive.
  6. Confirm Notifications: You should now be set to receive notifications according to your preferences. Check your email or notification center in SonarQube to confirm that you are receiving updates.

By following these steps, you can stay informed about critical updates and changes in your SonarQube projects and overall activities without needing administrative privileges for the entire space.
