Start: M14 - End M24
This work package will produce a compendium of AARC best practices and deliver recommendations for a common long-term strategy for AAI services in pan-European Research Infrastructures in Europe. A key objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of the AARC Blueprint Architecture, and the accompanying AARC Guidelines and use cases they enable, which can be used by Research Infrastructures, Science Clusters, Implementers of AAI solutions and Funding Bodies. The Compendium will maintain the right balance between technical and policy direction in order to appeal to a diverse audience and provide the necessary guidance for the reader, regardless if they are a technical architect or a policy maker.
Tasks
Task 5.1 Compendium Design (M14-M16)
Building on the results of the use case analysis performed in WP3, as well as the Technical, Architectural and Policy Guidance from WP1 and WP2, this task will design the compendium structure and identify required content. This work will be undertaken in close liaison with the Research Infrastructures, Science Clusters and the other stakeholders identified by the project. The compendium should take into account a diverse audience ranging from the Managers of the Research Infrastructures and their Service Providers, as well as the Research Communities who use their services, to Technical Architects and AAI Practitioners, Policy Makers and Funding Bodies. To facilitate the overall process, a Compendium Workshop will be held in M15.
Task 5.2 Compendium Preparation and Validation (M16-M22)
Building on the results of the Compendium Workshop, this task will gather and prepare all the necessary materials for the publication of the compendium. It will gather the AARC Blueprint Architecture and its accompanying guidelines as delivered by WP1 and WP2. In the event that additional material be required as a result of WP3 Use Case Analysis, a placeholder will be added to the compendium whilst the content is developed in WP1/2. An initial draft of the compendium will be presented in M20 which, in close liaison with the Validation Team (WP4), will provide an opportunity for further community feedback.
Task 5.3 Compendium Publication and Outreach (M22-M24)
Building on the preparatory work in Tasks T5.1 and 5.2, this task will undertake the final editing and publication of the first version of the Compendium of AARC Best Practices and Recommendations. The intention is that the compendium will be published as a living document on the AARC TREE website that will be delivered by WP6. The sustainability and the maintenance of the Compendium after the end of the project will be taken into account, leveraging existing communities such as FIM4R. Following the publication of the final version of the Compendium in M23, a comprehensive outreach campaign to the key audiences of the Compendium will be undertaken in collaboration with WP7 Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation.
