1. Welcome / Agenda Bashing

• suggestion about ePTID + subjectID rollover opportunitity – Shib v5 will not ship with epTID. (FYI: expect ~mid fall 2023 beta of v5, early jan general release)
• CAT DB, and other systems are mere (private) Service Providers
• outside-facing is the “eduroam SP Proxy”
• Dubravko could comment on the mailing list regarding revamp of that proxy, or merge with “terena” proxy
• ideally: provide transition path on the proxies such that the SPs behind do NOT lose their user bindings
• CAT only receives a lobotomised subset of available attributes; notably, the “ID” is an amalgamated string consisting of the attribute used, the ID as sent by the IdP, and the IdP entityID. Change of string means different ID.
• best to fix at “the source” (i.e. the proxy; for all SPs behind it)
• ChrisP taking this to eduroam-OT to get started

1. CAT 2.1.1 maintenance release

   • UI changes for end users on Android and iOS: a more streamlined experience

   • Tomasz shows the “Get it on Google Play” etc. button download

   • Should we go for it?

   • Also for Apple iOS?

   • (OpenRoaming is supported better with a conf file download than in the in-app flow; equal functionality only in the case of unconditional OpenRoaming)

   • for more streamlined experience, do the OS detection as first step, and redirect Android users immediately to the app (without the inst/profile selection)

   • Zenon: consider usages of UserAPI that display the device message; please do not break those.

   • ChrisP: too short notice for such a big change maybe? This affects instructions of all IdPs out there.

   • Ship 2.1.1 without this UI change. Code is in, but will not have effect (configuration change triggers)

   • contact GEANT legal rep for opinion on icons

2a. geteduroam apps

• get bad reviews for reasons the team can’t change (force to keep installed, file associations)
• marketing wise, would be good to have devs respond to those with good explanations, to raise public opinion
• StefanP volunteers for being the “first responder” :-)
