Opencast Community (global)
The Opencast Community is "a collaboration of individuals, higher education institutions and organizations working together to explore, develop, define and document best practices and technologies for management of audiovisual content in academia" (from the mission statement ). It deals with all matters relevant to academic video via the website, mailing list, and meetings.
Under the roof of the Opencast Community, 13 institutions have started a project to build Opencast Matterhorn.
