Please add any example of large data transmission use cases
- LHC - Daily traffic from CERN site to the test of the world?
- SKA - The LHC will pale into insignificance when the SKA comes on stream - in its first week it will collect more data than currently exists on the Internet. Put another way, it will generate as much as all the world's data produced in 2009 in 1 day - a rate of 50TByes/day. (Alex Reid)
- ELIXIR - Life-sciences and medical research are being revolutionised by new high-throughput data generation techniques. Data generation is set to increase by as much as a million-fold over the ESFRI Period (to 2020). These data will be generated in a highly distributed manner and exchanged between many different institutions.
