Goals
- To discuss changes to eduPKI service to make it eduroam specific.
Discussion items
- Procedure to get a certificate for eduPKI is not taking off as we would like. A better process would be to make eduPKI more eduroam friendly and use the vetting processes that we have and streamline the processes.
- eduPKI is supposed to be general purpose for others that are not eduroam. Two other uses at the moment but they are not showing any interest.
- The eduroam process would need to look at self-assertion for organizational validation and making this stronger. Would need to work worldwide – so we would need the GeGC to agree to this. Stefan to approach GeGC.
- Are the other use cases no longer operational? They are using TCS certificates. Need to be prepared to deal with use cases if something comes up where we need. Nicole to verify formally that the other use cases are dead.
Action items
- Stefan Winter to propose the new approach to using eduPKI for eduroam to the GeGC for approval by .
- Nicole Harris to get formal sign-off that the other use cases in eduPKI are no longer valid.
