3. WPA3
- Overview: WPA3-Open, WPA3-Personal, WPA3-Enterprise
* Open: adds Opportunistic Wireless Encryption (OWE) - no more cleartext
* Personal: session key establishment is with Dragonfly - Simultaneous Authentication of Equals (SAE)
* Enterprise: Suite B, required Protected Management Frames (PMF)
* mixed mode possible, but WPA3 means you have to drop WPA1
* Wi-Fi Certified requires WPA3-Personal support from 2020 on. WPA3-Enterprise optional.
- Not much effect in core operations, but ...
- Does this re-open the Captive Pandora Box?
