Subject: Invitation: Exploratory Meeting on Streamlining SP Deployment in Identity Federations
Dear XXX and ZZZ,
I invite you on behalf of the GÉANT Trust and Identity Incubator to a small-group meeting on simplifying the deployment and configuration of Service Providers (SPs) within identity federations.
Our primary focus is on new identity federations, but this topic may also interest those who want to expand their base of SPs. We aim to explore approaches to simplify and expedite current manual processes for installing and configuring typical services as SPs. The goal is to deploy services that rapidly attract users to federations. Our idea is to build on an easily configurable SP proxy with OIDC and SAML interfaces, which can also simplify service establishment in campus settings. We plan to provide both SimpleSamlPHP and SATOSA-based proxies, with instructions for integrating commonly sought collaboration tools.
The meeting's purpose is to discuss the scope, typical situations, means, key services and interests of federation operators and members. It also includes setting up the necessary infrastructure, including Identity Providers (IdPs) and SPs. We plan to explain our proof of concept and describe and discuss scenarios and relevant services so that we can develop these concepts into a usable product that would streamline deployment processes and minimise manual interventions. To ensure the sustainability of the solution beyond the incubator, we would also like to discuss the related technical and strategic roadmaps.

We propose the week of January 8 for this meeting, but you are welcome to suggest other dates and times.
We hope you find this topic interesting and are willing to engage in a discussion with us.
Sincerely,
YYY
