If visitors would rather stay in the Helsinki City Center, there are many hotels to choose from and it's easy get to us with subway.
Travel From the Airport
Finland's main airport, Helsinki Airport ("HEL") is the closest airport. You can either use public transport (local train + subway, about 1 hour) or take a taxi (about 30 minutes) to reach us.
Public transport:
Download HSL app beforehand and register in the app, info and download links https://www.hsl.fi/en/tickets-and-fares/hsl-app . Helsinki Airport has free wifi you can use to buy your ticket. Ticket needs to be purchased before you board (train/bus/tram/ferry) or enter the platform area (subway). If you're boarding a blue bus, enter via front door and show your ticket to the driver. All other transport methods: just get on.

09:15 - 09:45 | NOC Troubleshooting: Unified View, Automated Action - Mirna Ljubić Tustonjić (CARNET) In modern Network Operation Centers (NOCs), the complexity of managing operational networks is amplified by the need to access data from numerous tools and systems. The latest SIG-NOC tools survey indicates that, on average, organizations use 11.5 different tools daily. This multi-tool environment can slow down the troubleshooting process, as network engineers are forced to navigate between several screens to find and fix problems. To overcome this challenge, we have created a solution as part of the GN5-1 project’s Network Development work package (WP6), which automates the collection of data from various tools and date sources and presents it on a unified dashboard using Grafana. This method significantly accelerates troubleshooting, making it faster and more efficient. Our presentation will focus on demonstrating this practical use case, outlining the data sources involved, and showing how we visualize this information to provide a comprehensive network overview on a single screen. |
09:45 - 10:15 | Deep insights through network visibility - use cases for NRENs - Aitor Mendaza Ormaza (BENOCS) Network visibility is essential for a smooth-running network. NRENs benefit in different ways from gaining such insight into their network: they can save cost of transit and internet exchanges, can secure more direct and symmetrical paths for their traffic, resulting better quality of service for their users. Further benefit is gained when analyzing how the traffic is running through different VRFs, visualizing the entire traffic exchanged with any specific network within the NREN system or with the external internet. |
10:15 - 10:45 | Flash Talks:
|
10:45 - 11:15 | Coffee break |

Airport is in zone C, CSC is in zone B but all reasonable routes go thru city center (zone A) -> buy an ABC ticket (4,10€ for one trip or 16,50€ for 48 hour ticket). Take any of the local trains (I or P) from Helsinki Airport train station and ride it to the end (Central Railway Station). Change to subway (any westbound train: to Kivenlahti or Tapiola) and get off at Keilaniemi station.
Taxi
If you opt for the taxi, it'll cost you about 50€ (or more if it's a rush hour). Our host strongly suggests to use only taxis from airport's lanes 1 (FixuTaxi), 2 (Taksi Helsinki) or 3 (Menevä). Lane 4 has all other taxi companies with individual pricing.
