To be able to create a new group in the GEANT AAI Service, you need to fulfill at least one of these requirements:

To be a manager of the GEANT VO → Then you can create any new group (even the top-level one)
To be a manager of any existing Group in the GEANT VO → Then you can create a sub-group under any Group you are a manager of.

As both of these operations are similar, this guide will focus primarily on creating a new sub-group from the perspective of a Group manager.

Step 1:

Access the GEANT AAI Service and get into your home Dashboard - https://vo.aai.geant.org/home

Find the Group under which you want to create a new sub-group using this guide:

Step 2:
Click on the Subgroups button to open the setting for all sub-groups of this Group.

Step 3:

In the Subgroups setting you can see all current sub-groups this Group already has.

To create a new one, click on the green "Create subgroup..." button.

Step 4:

In the open form you need to fill some basic information:

Name - mandatory
Description - optional (but recommended)

Then click on the green button "Create".

Step 5:

Find your newly created sub-group in the list.
