Invitation to the SIG-RED Event.

The next visit of the SIG-RED will take place on the 19th of November, 2024 in Amsterdam, at Nikhef – the science park (The Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics).

This event offers a unique opportunity to explore two key facilities:

  • KM3NeT Assembly Area: A world-class research facility dedicated to constructing the next-generation neutrino telescopes.

  • Nikhef Housing Facilities: A major data center and connectivity hub, recognized as one of the largest internet exchange points in Europe.

There will also be a presentation of a leading researches from the Netherlands (organised by SURF).

There is a direct train to the Science park from Amsterdam Central Station. There is also a bus that runs regularly from Amstel Station to the Science park.  If you are staying close to the GÉANT office for the GÉANT General Assembly or CTO workshop it takes around 40 minutes to commute from Bijlmer Arena Station to the Science Park. (Metro line 54 or train to Amsterdam Amstel, then Bus 40 to the Science Park).  Alternatively, you can always stay in Utrecht close to Utrecht Central and get the train to Bijlmer (20 minutes) or Amsterdam Amstel (25 mins).
